Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) have staged a protest against the
outcome of the Edo state gubernatorial
election.

The protest was carried out in front of the
office of the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) on September 29.
The supporters carrying placards claimed
that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP
was the winner of the election as against
reports that Godwin Obaseki of the All
Progressives Congress was in pole position
to win the election.

Ize-Iyamu said President Muhammadu
Buhari was a product of a free and fair
election and therefore should ensure the
same.
”Contrary to claim that we brought 8000
militants, it’s clear that nothing like that
happened. The delay in the announcement of
the result by INEC has shown that the result
was predetermined and written.
“What is been announced is contrary to the
turnout of voters, even the national chairman
of the APC acknowledge this fact. But I tell
you, when the official result is announced, it
will be clear that result does not match the
turnout.
